Ingrid Brown is a West Cornwall-based artist whose landscapes explore the relationship between memory, sensation and place. Working intuitively with colour, texture and gestural mark-making, she seeks to capture not simply the appearance of a landscape, but its atmosphere, rhythm and emotional resonance.

Inspired by the coastline, gardens and ever-changing light around her, her work invites the viewer into a slower, more sensory experience of the natural world. Through a process of observation, memory and instinct, she balances abstraction with suggestive landscape to evoke a profound sense of place.

Her paintings are less about depicting a landscape than evoking the experience of being immersed within it.
