Colin Caffell
Colin Caffell is a sculptor and ceramicist producing original works of figurative sculpture in bronze, portraits, individual wheel thrown pottery and sculpted ceramics.
He originally trained in Ceramics and Three-Dimensional Design at Camberwell School of Art and ran his own pottery in London for a number of years before moving into the less abstract world of figurative sculpture. Self taught as a sculptor, he has now come full-circle with many of the most recent, more contemporary sculpted works very much a synthesis of these two fields. Drawing frequently upon archetypal and mythological themes, his sculptures are sensual, organic and often erotic.
In the past he has exhibited with the Royal Society of British Artists (RBA), both at the Mall Galleries in London and at the Henley Festival, and more recently has been elected a full member of The Penwith Society of Artists in Cornwall. His design for a Memorial to Cornish Tin Mining was selected by the former mining community of St Just in a public ballot. The completed 7 foot figure now stands in its own memorial garden at the entrance to Geevor Mine, now a Mining World Heritage Museum in Pendeen. The garden was also designed by himself!

In addition to his sculpture and pottery, Colin Caffell accepts portrait commissions.
Highlights of his work include a portrait of actor Dominic Cooper and a miner’s statue installed at Geevor Tin Mine Museum, showcasing the skill and character he brings to every piece.

Alongside his sculpture, portrait commissions, and studio pottery, Colin also creates bespoke hand-thrown washbowls; a contemporary take on functional craft that’s become one of his signature offerings.
Each bowl is thrown individually and finished in Colin’s rich glazes, giving a warm, characterful alternative to standard white porcelain.
Designed to sit above slate, granite, marble, or treated wooden tops, these bowls pair beautifully with pillar or wall-mounted taps and are typically fitted with a discreet pop-up or free-flow waste.
Every piece is unique, available in a range of styles and up to 50cm in diameter, with optional matching accent tiles for a cohesive finish.
Prices from £325 (not including taps, waste or fittings).
