Philip Wakeham
Philip Wakeham is a figurative sculptor who, unlike most sculptors, does all his own bronze casting. This allows him to use the whole process in the creative way so essential to producing the true beauty and fidelity of his finished works. He starts by working from life in clay, then, through a complex evolution of process and compositions, ends with the completed bronzes.
Drawing on the ideas of Carl Jung and Iain McGilchrist, myth and the divided brain are central to his work and belief in the fundamental importance of visual art in being human.
